Nightmare of an experience from start to finish.I originally chose this company because they had replaced my garage door springs in the past and I had a positive experience. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same this time. When they came to install my brand-new garage door, one of the panels was damaged. Despite my objections, they attempted to touch it up with paint. I was paying for a new garage door, not a damaged door with a visible paint repair. Unsurprisingly, the paint lines were noticeable, and they ultimately agreed the panel needed to be replaced. To make matters worse, my cameras captured the installers criticizing my choice to purchase a garage door without windows. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but perhaps don’t criticize a customer’s choices while standing on their property…especially when you’re there to install the product they paid you for.During installation, they also removed the sensors for my alarm system and forgot to reinstall them. I had to call and have someone return. The installer apologized for forgetting, while also referring to my professionally installed alarm system as “archaic.” He got it working temporarily, but it stopped working shortly afterward.I then had to pay my alarm company to come out. They confirmed that the sensors had been damaged and needed to be replaced. When I contacted Scott, I was initially told they weren’t responsible for moving the alarm equipment. The problem with that explanation is that I never asked them to move it, nor was I told beforehand that I needed to have my alarm company remove it. Their installers chose to remove it themselves. Scott also forwarded me text conversations between his service technicians in which one acknowledged that he had done this before and had never had this happen…directly contradicting the claim that this wasn’t something they handled.Ultimately, Scott offered to reimburse only half of the alarm repair. I accepted, although I was extremely frustrated that I had to come out of pocket for damage caused during their installation. But the most unacceptable part of this entire experience has been the refund situation.I was told to call in with my credit card number so they could process a refund. Instead, Kristen took my card information and CHARGED my credit card without my authorization. They did issue me a check for the partial reimbursement of the alarm damage. However, more than a month later, I still have not received the refund for the unauthorized credit card charge.I have repeatedly been told that their outside financing/payment company shows the charge as refunded. Yet the money is not in my account. I was then told to contact my bank, so I did. After spending approximately 25 minutes on the phone, my bank confirmed that no credit or refund has been received or is pending on my account. So if I’ve supposedly been refunded, where is my money? The amount of time and effort I have had to spend chasing down money that should never have been charged in the first place is absurd. Between the damaged new door, the unprofessional comments, the damaged alarm sensors, paying out of pocket for part of that repair, an unauthorized credit card charge, and now spending more than a month trying to get my money back, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience.Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company handles them. In this case, I have had to repeatedly follow up and spend my own time trying to resolve problems I did not create.Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.
