I hired Bluemark construction to finish a room behind my garage and replace the carpet with vinyl in my dining room also with the same flooring as the basement. This job was started about the first of August 2020. A relatively small job. The work was completed approximately the middle of September. He was starting his new construction company and was still working his full-time job so he did the work in the evenings. He came in with the lowest bid on the job and I like the way he talked with me and told me what he could do so I talked with my wife and we decided we would give him a chanceHe had one of his friends help him hang the sheetrock which turned out to be a total disaster. So he had to remove it and redo it himself. I contacted him, the middle of December 2020 to let him know that the floor was starting to lift in the basement. He claimed that was due to us running a chair on it. We should be able to roll wheels on a properly installed floor. My wife was using it as an office to work from home during COVID. He suggested something to fix it instead of fixing it himself. The floor in the dining room is doing the same thing. I don't know how to get around running chairs on a floor since it is in a dining room. The landing at the bottom of the stairs is completely lifting like it had no adhesive at all.I grew up in a house with linoleum floors without any problems and I'm 60 years old. You would think he would be able to get a floor that would stay fixed down.So 3 years later I am going to have to pay someone to come and replace the floors that should still be in good quality condition after 3 years. I contacted him and asked what is warranty was and he told me it was one year. When we were deciding on the floor he told us the vinyl had a 20-year warranty, how does that work? But the vinyl is not the problem it was the installation. My recommendation to you is not to hire him. To put it simply he did a very poor job of laying down the floor and will not do anything about it now.So bottom line. Even though I hired the smallest bid, I still paid too much for his level of work.Update: the work was completed in September of 2020. The first time I contacted him about the floor was December 2020. His solution was to have ME use an iron and heat up the glue and put some weight on it. I still have the dates text message. So his one year warranty excuse is just that, an excuse. So he wants to charge me to fix something that was completed incorrectly the first time. As you can see in the picture we've gone much more than a home remedy, that should have been installed properly the first time. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and issued a complaint and he didn't care enough about his company to reply to the complaint. So he has an unresolved complaint against Bluemark Construction.
