I absolutely loved the beginner group salsa class. I was initially nervous to go alone and as a naturally terrible dancer, but the entire experience was so much better than I could have expected. The instructors were great and the pace of the lessons was ideal.

I’ve completed levels 1 A and B. The instructors Jenny and Juan Carlos are wonderful. They’re fun and patient. The location is easy to get to, and the class time is perfect. I plan to move on to the next level because I’ve really enjoyed it.

I love taking salsa classes at Joel Salsa! I’m currently in one of the Level 2.0 classes with Geovanni and Jennie, who are excellent instructors. They do a great job teaching at this level, especially when it comes to shines and partner work, while consistently reinforcing key fundamentals.What I enjoy most is their energy. Every single week they make the class fun, and it’s very clear they truly enjoy what they do.I’m also taking a package of private lessons with Geovanni (which is a great value), and it has made a world of difference. I used to think I didn’t have rhythm, but I’m discovering that I actually do. I look forward to each lesson because Geovanni is excellent at explaining exactly where I can improve and what’s missing, all while keeping the experience enjoyable. I also took a private lesson when I was in Level 1 with Juan Carlo & that one lesson helped a lot!The school also hosts socials and offers a full salsa community, along with online videos that reinforce what you learn in class.Finally, Joel and Maria are incredibly approachable and always striving to make an already top-tier salsa school even better. I’ve already recommended Joel Salsa to family and friends! Highly recommend!

I’ve been taking classes at this salsa school for almost two years now, and by this December it will officially be my second year here. In my opinion, this is the best salsa school in New York.I’ve tried a few other schools before because I wanted to see what was different, but I still think this place is the best. The location is very convenient since it’s close to the train station, and because it’s in K-Town, there are many Korean restaurants downstairs where I can grab some food and recharge after class.The studio is always clean and spacious, and the overall environment is very comfortable. The teachers are patient, funny, and make classes enjoyable and stress-free. One of the instructors, who is also the owner of the school, is especially kind and encouraging. She once told us she has been dancing for over 30 years, so she truly understands that learning dance takes time and patience. She always motivates and supports her students with a warm attitude.Many students have been dancing here for years, which really shows how positive and welcoming the atmosphere is. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn salsa.
