Estimate day. We asked Sam how do you handle your excess soil, We haul it away as we dig the hole, saving some for backfill. 6 weeks later it was still here. As problems mounted Sam would Not return phone calls and has NOT called me back yet. They would work a day maybe a day or 1/2 day, then show up the next week or maybe not. You never knew exactly when they would show up. When concrete ... More

You never knew exactly when they would show up. When concrete day came its finally going be over we thought! Nope concrete guys dumped about a 1/2 yard concrete into the pool and left it! I called Sam once again! No return call as of today on that issue either. At this point clean up starts POOL is full debris forms and trash, yes still has the concrete in it a Full 4 days after the concrete spill. Now the electrical nightmare starts after 2 Electrical contractors and 3 failed inspections later! We passed on the 4th inspection. Some of the wall mounted controls panels had to be moved to pass inspection leaving holes in the rear of house, they did fill with caulk, Sam hasn't returned that call either! So 11 weeks after they started we passed inspection. AVOID ABLE/SUN COAST POOLS! You will be grateful you did! Less

Apparently the new owner was clearing out old inventory for a salt system (as I was told by service tech, Mike Ruitto, that had worked for Frank Kearney and stayed with Manoogian). I had multiple problems with the salt system with the mother board being replaced twice shortly after the install and finally failing again about 3 years later and found out that brand was no longer available so I had to have another pool company install a new salt system. Last Thursday my Astralpool salt filter tank ruptured almost draining my pool before we were able to turn off the system. When I called Able regarding warranty on the tank (Astralpool's site indicates a 10 year warranty on the tank) I find that they no longer sell OR service Astralpool products and that I could buy a new system from them or deal directly with Astralpool regarding any warranty coverage. They offered zero assistance with the product that I was sold by them. The company gets good reviews from current customers but does not offer any assistance to customers that were in the process when the business changed hands. Based on this experience, I would not recommend them. Less

I purchased A hot tub from able pools & spas it was supposed to come with the sound system. No sound system when I called and informed the manager of my disappointment. When he didn't, I called on 4/29, and was given his phone number to do my own follow-up. For a product under warranty, I shouldn't have to call the contractor myself. Master Spa does not stand behind their products, the Distributor is less than helpful. FYI: D=save the head ache and expense Do not consider a purchase from POOL TECH - and their represented MASTER SPA by Micheal Phelps. Master Spa does not stand behind their products, the Distributor is less than helpful. Master Spa has major problems with the fabrication of the acrylic shell and poor quality in workmanship during the assembly process. Long Story short, i purchased a swim spa on 3/11/2012, Model HP Trainer 12, this unit developed major. Surface shell cracks ranging for spidering to multiple 1mm thick x four and five inch in length. POOL TECH from Las Cruces NM traded out the spa for a new model the H2X Trainer 12, this unit turn out to be worse than the fist unit provided. Developing more serious cracks than the first unit compounded by 1 - 2 inch water level loss per week. POOL TECH attempted to remedy via multiple occasions, still we have water loss and a growing cracking and spidering issue. MASTER SPA & POOL TECH provide no remedy and have ignored the consumer. Don't be fooled with their warranty, 10 years on swim structure, 5 years - Plumbing & Equipment, 7 years on shell surface and 2 years on wave propulsion system. It's joke... Buying a MASTER SPA from POOL TECH is expensive and a problem. I do have multiple occasion to swim in the offered POWERPOOL MAAX swim spa from Able Pool and Spas, i can report this is a serious performance and quality built system. The current owner of the MAAX Spa is approaching a year of use with no issues what so ever. Service after the sale from Able Pool is first rate. SUMMARY: If Able Pool and Spa would have carried the PowerPool MAAX system at the time of my purchase, I would have purchased my swim spa from them. Able Pool and Spa has been supportive of the lemon purchased from Pool Tech/Master Spa, proving needed maintenance materials for a Lemon. Trusting this information is helpful Less
