My only critique is that a lot of the customer communication falls on Tommy and with how much their business has grown and will surely grow it might be time to hire someone who only does customer communication. I love that they are okay with pets not being spayed or neutered. I chose not to do that for my dog for the first 2 years because it can stunt their growth. I'm pleased to report that more than a year later he is still continuing to learn and grow with me.I've learned something valuable too. Dogs love to communicate. Patch knows so many words/commands now that he actually 'tests' me to see if I'm paying attention. For example, if we are playing with a ball or a toy and it's time to come inside, sometimes he will drop the toy or ball on the way inside. He does this purposefully; I can tell by the sheepish look on his face. Of course he will immediately retrieve the object when I instruct him to, he just loves that he can understand my commands.I highly recommend Tommy and all the great people at Modern K9 Solutions! The day he came home, he added my sister in law to his approved human list, but I still had a lot of learning to do. Frankie, and the whole family really, needed more practice before we would see real results. Dogs are easy to train, it’s the humans sometimes that need more work. So we just stayed consistent, with a few tweaks here and there from our trainer.Then, something switched in Frankie, and every person that came in our home seemed to be on the approved human list. We are still practicing caution and sticking to our training, but I just can’t believe we are at this point.We’ve had a house full of 7 or so teenagers, a party of a dozen friends and family, and I didn’t have to correct him once. Zero reactivity. I cannot wait to see what the future holds!I don’t think there’s a dog issue they can’t solve. I recommend them to everyone everywhere. You could have the most hopeless case and I swear they will fix it. I think one of the best parts for me is that I have support for life as part of his package. The turn around in their behavior in the quick 10 minute sessions he gave us a taste of at the shelter was like nothing I had ever seen before. So after sending one of our fosters there for human aggression rehabilitation, I knew I wanted to send my personal dog there as well. She had dog reactivity problems and could scarcely go out in public without shaking and vocalizing and pulling me places to get to other dogs, it was MISERABLE. We take our dogs everywhere and I wanted her to be apart of that. We did the 5 week lesson package and got one on one help and by the end of it we were walking around petsmart and the riverfront without her even glancing at other dogs! Our foster fail who is human aggressive/selective has been in training for 2 years now thanks to their lifetime support and he is now walking up to complete strangers and meeting them on his terms! We also take full advantage of their boarding they offer for their board and train dogs because nobody knows how to handle Mr. Zeke (or wants to ;D) like they do! He is SO EXCITED every time we get off the exit in warrenton because he knows where he is going! MK9 teaches you to be a better handler and gives you the tools to help your fur baby through things. That helped put our hearts at ease as we missed him every day! We saw things he was working on with the trainer, how he was responding and even got to see pictures and videos of them working with him in public at public venues that allow dogs. We got to see his progress and see that he was well taken care of and treated with love and care.We chose the 2 week training program with boarding, and even though It was hard to leave our pup for 2 weeks, it was the best decision we ever made!!! When boarding the dogs, they are well cared for. They are kept clean, healthy and have special attention time outside of just training. They also allowed us to come to the facility to work with our pup when his training was over. This was to teach us all the ins and outs of what he had learned, and have the trainers guidance as we worked our pup on the different commands. When we welcomed our pup back home after his training, we couldn't have been more impressed!He was still our sweet and loving high-energy puppy, but he had control! He listened to commands, we were able to create boundaries at home, he no longer jumped on us but could be excited and contain himself. He was a brand new dog, but yet still the sweet, fun-loving dog we knew!Most importantly, he was gentle and easy with our newborn baby girl. We no longer worry if he is going to jump on us as we are carrying her or jump on the furniture when we are sitting with her. Instead, he sits next to us or walks alongside us as her protector.One of the best parts of this training is knowing that we have lifetime support from K9 Solutions. When you do a board and train, you will get lifetime support from them to do refresher courses if needed. It is so reassuring to know that if we need additional help, they will be there for us at no additional charge!If it wasn't for Tommy's confidence in his program and reassurance that our pup would come back the same pup but better, I don't know what we would have done. I could tell the love that Tommy had for what he does and that was all I needed to know.Our trainer Amanda was phenomenal! You can tell she is a pro and natural at what she does! He is still his same self in terms of personality, but has much better impulse control and continues to follow commands as I continue to do the at home training a little each day (maybe 10-15 minutes is all it takes). He is much more calm, and because of it seems much happier.As am I!It might seem pricey up front but is well worth it, Modern K9 is invested in their dogs for their entire lifetime.I have already booked my 2nd dog for a 3 week board and train. The thing that sets Modern K9 apart for any other trainers is the aftercare with board and train packages. Most trainers will milk your pockets till they are empty with little to no success. Not Modern K9 they truly are here to help us with Stitch even going forward after the board and train and that makes them the only trainers, we will confidently recommend to anyone with any issues with their dogs! My only critique is that a lot of the customer communication falls on Tommy and with how much their business has grown and will surely grow it might be time to hire someone who only does customer communication. That will eliminate struggles to reach you guys and will allow all the trainers including Tommy to keep working hands-on and being awesome! He took his time with Vayda to gain her trust instead of forcing himself on her, unlike the other "trainer." We both have a lot more confidence in each other which will lead to a better life for my pup. Our relationship has grown so much and she is definitely a happier dog. She loves Tommy and has no fear of him so I know her treated her very well. And Vayda now has lifetime support from someone who definitely knows what he's doing.
