I had to give her a suppository every 5-7 days to get her to poop. (Weight gain was fine she was getting enough but just wasn’t pooping). One visit with Dr Mel and she pooped (after 5 days of no poop) all by herself the next day! Each visit we have had, my baby would poop after (and once during….poor Dr Mel 😂). After her first adjustment with Dr Mel my baby stayed on the breast (without popping on and off) for the first time in 6 weeks! She is feeding better and pooping regularly now. Dr Mel genuinely cares about all her patients and I would recommend her to everyone. Less

Dr Melonie and Jill are the reason that I did not give up and quit breastfeeding. Long story short my son had a lip and tongue tie which I had released by a dentist the issue with him was that before the procedure he lost so much weight and was not eating after the procedure he was also barely eating due to his mouth being sore. He ended up in the hospital for failure to thrive it was completely heartbreaking. In the hospital I was given very little support to breastfeed and basically became an exclusive pumper. I really wanted to be able to nurse my son especially being a second time mom and having had a beautiful breastfeeding experience with my daughter. My pediatrician referred me to Begin Well. I called them when I was truly at my lowest my son completely refused to nurse and would only take a bottle. The day I called to make an appointment it was a Friday morning and they made the time for me that afternoon Dr Melonie sat with me for over an hour told evaluate the whole situation and helped me to get him to nurse that day! After that visit I continued to go at least once a week to get him adjusted and have help with latching and feeding I worked with Jill who was amazing and also took the time with me each visit to help me latch my baby and get him to nurse and get good full feeds. I feel that the adjustment before nursing also was a game changer another issue my son had when I first started taking him was that he was VERY TENSE after just a few sessions that tension that he had completely went away. They encouraged me to not give up. When I started going to begin well they helped me latch him and he was feeding using nipple shields which for me and my son worked soo well. I’m happy to report that my son no longer needs a nipple shield at all he nurses 100% the way that he’s supposed to he’s thriving and back on the growth chart for his weight. I have been recommending this office to my friends and family who struggle with breastfeeding. Amazing group of women who genuinely care and willing to take the time to help you. I thought a long time before writing this review. I want to start this out with saying that the people at this practice are very polite and their chiropractic care is decent. My issue was with their lactation services. On my first visit, they were able to get my son to successfully latch which I was over the moon about! My issue came when my son continued to LOSE weight even 3 weeks after he was born and bottle feeding after breastfeeding. I went in to this practice multiple times with concerns about milk supply. They did a weighted feed, to which the scale said my son transferred half an ounce. I was told that it most likely wasn’t accurate since there was milk in the nipple shield and my son was sleepy after feeding for a while. My son would hysterically screen almost immediately after leaving. I was told to just give him a pacifier. In addition, when I brought up the fact that he wasn’t gaining weight and that my pediatrician told me to feed every 2 hours, they told me to make sure I don’t fed on both sides so that I didn’t create an oversupply and that he didn’t need formula supplementation. The issue was, I didn’t have an adequate milk supply. I decided to go to a different lactation consultant that came highly recommended and discovered that I was only producing 5oz a day. In addition to this, I was told the wrong breast pump flange size which caused lots of pain and didn’t help my milk supply. This issue could have been avoided or improved if the original weighted feed was believed. Less

Well, our son was born with colic and had major breast-feeding issues. Between our medical team and lactation consultation, no one identified a lip or tongue tie. A hungry colic baby + mamas nipples feeling like they were going to fall off, I was in tears every second of the day. Being at the end of our rope, defeated and hallucinating from lack of sleep, we called Begin Well. Melonie got us in the same day, identified the tongue and lip tie that was causing the feeding issues and immediately began working on the colic. New mama thoughts, "Of all people to identify ties in a child, not the medical team, but a chiropractor". THANK GOD FOR MELONIE. I went from HATING the infant stage to loving it after meeting with her. She has now taken care of us with our 2nd child and a post-partum mama. My kids have been ahead in all of their milestones, and I attribute this to Chiro care.
