It took awhile to get the installation set up after signing because EC had so many projects going, but it was fine because Ryan had advised me of that beforehand and EC gave me updates during that time. The installation team was great, very professional. It took two days and they left everything neatly organized after the first day, cleaned up everything really well after the second. My system is up and running now, Ryan walked me through the system itself and the monitoring system, easy enough to follow. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone who’s interested in solar panels. Less

Earlier this year I was in a rush to install solar prior to the NEM 2.0 deadline in California. A colleague referred me to Energy Concepts and highly recommended working with them. I contacted Danny Johal, who was excellent in walking me through the entire solar process. Though I’m sure they were incredibly busy with the deadline coming up, Danny was able to meet with me quickly, was clear about the entire process, and then once we signed the contract was able to get everything processed through quickly and efficiently to ensure I was still on the NEM 2.0 program. We signed the contract in May, and I was told installation wouldn’t happen until late August due to the (understandable) backlog. Through the summer I would receive weekly updates regarding where we were with approval, permits, and so on and my installation actually happened earlier than anticipated in early August. The installation was done professionally with no issues (and was complimented by the inspector), and my system was activated quickly. Through the whole proceeds Danny and the rest of the Energy Concepts team were always responsive, always professional, and were efficient in the work they did. I’d highly recommend giving them a call and I’m looking forward to cheaper bills! Less

If I could give this company 10 stars I would. I just love their professionalism, I love their timeliness, and I love their communication skills. This process of putting up solar can be a very timely manner due to permits, licenses and everything else that needs to be approved by the city,and PG&E. This company did the best, and went above and beyond to get my solar up and running. I really do appreciate there their communication with me weekly to let me know what was going on and the status of my solar. This process was about seven months yet it didn’t feel that long because I knew what was going on every step of the way. When it came time to start up my solar someone came out from energy concepts to go over what my bill will look like where the numbers are coming from and also go over my whole entire unit. There were a couple of issues before they even started the process with my breaker, and some other things needed to be grounded such as my water heater and they took care of it no questions asked and they did a phenomenal job and went above and beyond. I would be wrecked recommending this company to anyone who is looking for solar. Thank you guys for making this such an easy transition I truly do appreciate it. Lastly, I truly do appreciate them letting me know that they would be involved even after my solar was put in and any issues or problems that arose I could give them a call and they would be out as soon as possible. Energy Concepts installed our solar system recently and overall did a great job. Ryan was very patient during the sales process and answered all of the many questions I had. And I had many. There was no undue “sales pressure” during the process and I felt comfortable and well educated making the decision to go with them. I understand it is a large project with lots of moving pieces. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication on one step of the process that delayed the install by about 6 weeks. I don’t understand exactly what happened but it sounds like it was a misunderstanding between sales>design>installation. This was frustrating because we had already started paying for the system installation even though it wasn’t installed yet, and we were losing out on the potential savings from generating our own power. Again, it is a large project, and I expected it to take a few weeks if not months. But this delay was in addition to the already long timeline. I tried working with the team to find some resolution. After weeks of following up and waiting for responses, they came up with a solution that I thought would be fine and help put this to rest. Unfortunately, going on two months later, I have not heard from anyone on the team nor seen the resolution they committed to. Overall, pre sales, the responsiveness is great. They fully answered all my questions and educated us on our solar system. The install and service crews were wonderful. Hardworking, respectful, communicative. My only issue has been the preventable communication mistake and the inability or lack of desire to resolve and follow through. Update: Following the response from the company representative to this original review, the committed resolution remains unfulfilled and unacknowledged. I would still recommend the company and will share our candid experience. Changed from 3 to 2 stars. Update: Ryan reached back out a few weeks later (unsolicited) and took ownership of the unintentional failure to follow through on the previously committed resolution. He then promptly handled the agreed upon correction. Changed from 2 to 4 stars. Less

My husband and I are very happy we chose a SunPower system and Energy Concepts as our solar installer. I interviewed and received quotes from 6 different providers and did the research to inform myself because I didn't know anything about solar. I compared everything from the specs of the panels and equipment used, to warranties of the equipment and roof, to reviews of the different installers, and of course how much the system cost. Energy concepts was actually the last installer we interviewed. When we met with Danny he answered all our questions and he was very knowledgeable and confident about the SunPower product. There was no pressure and we felt very comfortable with him. After Danny left we compared all the options one last time. It was very evident to both of us that a SunPower system was the right choice and Energy Concepts was the right installer. We were in a hurry to get everything moving forward quickly and Danny was a man of his word! The communication by email and phone kept us always informed of what step was coming next. The timeline for each step was quick, easy, and efficient. We had no issues whatsoever, and it was effortless on our part. Robert was very interested after the installation to know how we felt about the whole process so he could give feedback on anything that we may have not been happy with. It is obvious that Energy Concepts is very interested in feedback from their customers because it seems very important to them to always be improving their customer service. All the Energy Concepts staff from Danny to Pete, Lorenzo, Robert and Kerri were courteous, timely and knowledgeable. We decided because interest rates are much lower now than the interest rate on our previous mortgage that we could refinance our home to include the cost of the solar, but keeping our # of years left on our mortgage the same. We lowered our mortgage interest rate over 2% and saved even more money on our system. This is a really great option for anyone who may currently be at a higher rate on their mortgage to save on their mortgage interest and also get a low interest rate to include their solar system. I had solar added to our house about five years ago. Unfortunately the company that I chose went out of business. They used SunPower equipment and did a super job on the installation. Over the last year the production fell substantially and I contacted the billing department about my concerns of the reduction in output and higher PG&E yearly bill. They claimed that the panels were meeting proper output but the did send me a check for under 200 dollars stating they were off a little. I contacted Kerri Lawler at Energy Concepts and explained my concerns. She said she would have it checked out. Two service technicians came and accessed the problem, purchased the needed part that had failed. Both were friendly and knowledgeable and fixed the problem the same day. Now my SunPower solar panels are producing in one day what they were producing in one week. My special thanks to Kerri, Andrew, and Justin for a job well done. SunPower panels are the best and the workers at Energy Concepts are the best. I would encourage anyone looking in this direction to get solar and have super employees watching over everything this is the place to go. Thanks to you all. Less

Mike presented the company and the technology very thoroughly and professionally in our first call; he was patient and down to earth in answering all my questions. The Energy Concepts personnel that came to our home were equally pleasant, professional and handled working in a fairly remote location well. Our solar panels and transformer are at opposite ends of our house, and the installation team managed to hide the connection between the two from view entirely by running it through the attic, despite the fact a raised ceiling in one of the rooms didn't leave them much room to work. They even painted the piping above the control boxes to match the paintwork of the house. We received permission from the utility to put the system into operation just a few days after installation was complete. Energy Concepts made what could have been a complex process very easy. Energy Concepts (EC) stood out as a clear choice for our Solar needs. Danny , ECs salesperson, listened to us, the customer, answered our questions, compared options of leasing versus purchase, and proposed a system that was suited for our needs. He also understood that we were going to talk to several companies, and that it would take time for us to make a decision. Once we decided we were going to purchase rather than lease, we wanted a local established company rather than someone with a national 1-800 number for any service needs should they arise. We contracted with EC and were immediately impressed with their project management. We recieved weekly updates from Kerri, who was always available to answer questions regarding the status of our project and installation. The on-site install team was polite, efficient, and did not leave any mess. They were done in 2 days. Then came the coordination with PG&E to get permission to connect to the GRID. We had previously heard about issues, from friends who had Solar, getting PG&E to approve. Vanessa handled all the required forms and submitted the paperwork. We were on the GRID within 3 days of the final Inspection approval from the County of Fresno! I am especially happy that I got Solar panels from a Silicon based and USA manufactured panels and most reliable, Sunpower. Installation was smooth and their crew members were very professional and in fact they discovered a roof tile was cracked so they just decided to fix it on their own, no charge. :-) I also appreciate Kerri as my main point of contact @ EC, she is on top of everything and promptly responds to my email/text be it any day of the week. Thanks Kerri for addressing all my concerns. They took care of all paper work and coordination with all other agencies for permits/approvals. Really appreciate the whole team @ EC. If I ever decide to add more capacity, I will definitely go with EC. Thanks Ronson for not being pushy but rather convincing me to take the right step at right time!!! I would like to single out a couple of people with whom we - my wife, Jenny and I - were so impressed. Danny Johal was our sales person. He went above and beyond to provide us with courteous and professional service. He is an excellent and knowledgeable man who kept us comfortably informed and reassured during the entire sales and installation process. I cannot say enough good about him. After our power was turned off, and later back on, we found a couple of electrical outlets in our kitchen that no longer worked. I notified Danny and he sent Josh (don't know his last name) out to determine the cause. Josh spent literally hours attempting to find the problem. He worked late one night and was not able to find the problem. He came back early the next day and worked several more hours until he located the problem and fixed it for us. I cannot say enough good about Josh. He was extremely courteous, understanding and knowledgeable. Danny and Josh are both a credit to your company. Kerri also kept us informed of progress and she also deserves a big thank you. So, thank you to Danny, Josh, and Kerri for making our experience with Energy Concepts an easy and enjoyable one. Energy concepts was not able to do this structure them selves so they had sub contract it out. I will honestly say, that I did have some issues with them, witch prolonged the job, but at the end they made everything right. I can’t say enough about the 2 owners Jim & Jason, hands down 2 top quality men. Like I said I had some issue with the structure people, and Jim and Jason were there the whole time, to make sure everything was right. Thank you Jim & Jason And then there’s Kerri. Kerri is the office secretary, I’m guessing who keeps you informed. Kerri is your go to person about whatever you need to know. If she doesn’t know, she has you answer with in a couple of hours, if not by the end of the day. She keeps you updated once a week, and will even answer your emails on the weekends. Thank you Kerri for everything. And last but absolutely not least is Jeremy. Jeremy is there electrician, who is by far one of the best I’ve seen in construction. He gave me his card so if I had any questions you can call him. I mean every time I called him, he answered. His workmanship ship was fantastic. The wiring in the panel to all the equipment being mounted. Thank you Jeremy My solar finally got switched over a week ago. If I could give any advice to people buying solar, is be patient.
