The Dojo has been an excellent learning experience for my son. Hanshi Steve does an amazing job with the kids.

Sensei Steve, Dawn and co. are the best teachers in town! They will make your child feel comfortable from day 1!

Hanshi Steve is an excellent teacher, he is very patient and very patient. His staff Sensei Dawn and Sensei Janine are both great and make us feel at ease. Best karate school.
As a relative newbie on my first formal visit to a martial arts class, I was humbled by the warm reception I received. The students were very patient with me and they threw me (figuratively) right into the mix. I had a blast and I'm looking forward to my next visit!... More

UPDATE : It has been more than two years since I left the first review and my feelings on The Dojo have only grown stronger and more positive. My son is now closing in on his Black Belt and we could not be happier to have taken this journey with Steve and Janine. Even through the struggles of the pandemic, solutions and options were always available for training and advancement. Now as things return to normal The Dojo has only grown more popular and new students seem to be arriving every week. There are many options out there to pursue the study of Martial Arts, but you will not find a better option or more personable and friendly core of instructors anywhere else. ORIGINAL: My son has been a student at the Dojo for about six months and we could not be happier as a family, the atmosphere could not be more welcoming and inviting. Even though it's only been a short time he has learned so much and there is a noticeable change in his behavior that the discipline of martial arts can provide. I have already referred multiple families because of our experience and they too have joined the Dojo family. If you are looking for a good school for martial arts training with accomplished and professional instructors then look no further. Less

We as parents decided to have our daughter try karate. After meeting with Steve we decided his teaching style, skills and experience would be the best fit. Steve is amazing! My teen age son has done boxing for a while and wanted to expand his fighting art skills by learning Uechi-ryu Karate so he joined the Dojo about 6 months ago. Steve does an excellent job of explaining how to execute each move. He also keeps the classes engaging while still managing to keep order and structure. My oldest son began karate instruction at The Dojo 4 years ago, as a 6 year old. He immediately took to Steve's teaching style--a great blend of fun and fundamentals. He has continued to be inspired to work hard, practice at home and legitimately learned what he needed to know to earn his black belt at 10! Steve has instilled a lifelong interest in karate in him. My two younger children are now on board as well and classes at the Dojo and practice at home are part of family life. Steve is friendly, easy to work with, serious about karate but lighthearted with the kids, and the best deal in town. Highly recommend! Less
