Mastermind9

M9 has made me braver. More ready to back myself, try things, and think bigger. I didn't expect that when I joined - I came because I needed my feet held to the fire.I'd already taken on a member of staff with the goal of building his hours until he could go permanent, and I knew that to make that happen I needed to grow the business. I also knew myself well enough to know I wouldn't do it without accountability. You can only get so far on your own.I'd been in other masterminds before, so I knew they could work. What swung it for M9 specifically was that it felt different - broader and more holistic than anything I'd experienced before, and the group is small by design. Nine people means everyone gets a voice every session. I've been in groups where you could hide in the background. If you can hide, you're not really getting the accountability you came for.The Spotlight sessions are something else. I've felt torn to shreds in them, if I'm honest, but I've also come out of them energised and fired up, straight into flow and building something quickly based on the feedback. You realise afterwards that it was exactly what you needed to hear. We only ever see things from our own perspective, and having the whole group ask you clarifying questions and then give you feedback in turn is invaluable. The accountability buddy system is another part of it that I find invaluable. Every week, you and your buddy are checking in with each other, keeping each other honest about whether what you're doing actually lines up with the goals you've set. That's not something you get when you're running a business on your own.Pete and Sarah make themselves available when you really need them, which is very generous of them and means a lot. I've tapped into that resource a time or two. Pete has even given some networking support to one of my team members who was finding his feet - that kind of thing goes above and beyond. The results speak for themselves. When I joined, my income was roughly fifty-fifty between outsourced credit control and Ts & Cs drafting. It's now two thirds outsourced credit control, and the overall revenue has grown. The goal has always been to build a business where more of the income is coming from work that I'm not personally delivering, so that I can spend more time working on it rather than just in it - and more time with my mum, who has Alzheimer's. M9 is helping me get there.M9 is a community. I leave every session with something I can implement. And when you're having a crappy day, your group is there - they'll surround you, make you feel less alone, and then give you a kick up the backside when that's what you actually need.I'd highly recommend M9, but only if you're ready to commit. You've got to turn up every month, you've got to do the 90 day planning sessions, and you've got to be honest, ready to be challenged, and ready to do the work. If you're not prepared to put that time in, you won't reap the benefits. But if you are, it's totally worth it.
