Taekwondo is one of the best things to happen to me. It changed my physical health in more ways than one and I can’t imaging life without taekwondo now. I am the mother of the 15 year old that "Karen" lied about in her criticism at the library. I am also the mother of the 12 year old who was there. I find it problematic that a grown woman judged harshly a group of largely Black kids and a community leader. If she was so concerned with the children's welfare and behavior, why did she not notify the library administration, or offer support? Instead, she was hostile and confronted the children to attempt to manipulate them into buying into her bias. She made my daughter very anxious with her cross-examination and leading questions. "Karen" harassed the children, then turned her vitriolic attention to Master Pius, demanding information as if she was a cop. No thank you.Master Pius is a great community leader and his dojon has done miracles for my children in terms of anger management, self-esteem, academic excellence, and an emotional support for over 6 years.My family supports Master Pius for all the good he has done for us, and will continue to do. This is an awesome martial arts school. Grand Master Pius is a decorated instructor with over 40 years of dedication to the art of Taekwondo. He was inducted into the Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame in 2011 and more recently received his 8th Dan Kukkiwon Certificate. This is a rare honor that only few are fortunate and skilled enough to achieve. I have to answer this because there always two sides of the story.Our side is that these kids started more than 5 months in this after school program, they came with a lot of family issues, father never came to pick them up on time, let them stay there at school every day very late, every day with a different excuse for being late, did not even worry if the kids were tired and most of time they were hungry and asking us for food, we give snacks at 3:00 and at 7:40 they were already suppose to be home having dinner, but they were so neglected, they never came to support kids in classes we would have to take pictures sometimes to show to them, kids liked to do Taekwondo classes but missed so many times because the parents would always forget their uniforms and the kids would get so frustrated watching others go to class there are not even words to explain how irresponsible of these parents were, they never came to school and asked what time they arrive or what was they’re schedule, but one day they decided to call Master Pius at 2:00am in the morning while Knowing he was in Korea to ask about arriving time, if they aware and responsible they should know that Master Pius was out of country and call the teachers at the school but since they were never present in their activities they never know like the other parents that were always very informed…Master Pius is a role model for these kids i myself have two kids 12 and 15 years old and have been with Master Pius since they were 2 and 4 years old and I cannot begin to explain how thankful we are! The aesthetics of the design is good, but the navigational links should all be on a line, that is why I am not scoring the site more. But I know Master Pus as a thorough person in life generally, which is reflective in him as a martial artist as well as an instructor; plans, programs, students.
