It has been a great experience rediscovering my roots in salsa music which i have listened and street danced since a young man. Johan and Alyssa take you step by step in the formal On2 New York style of dancing in a very effective, enjoyable and relaxing teaching method. I’ve been a salsa dancer, primarily On1 for about a year now. I heard many great things about Timba thru the DFW salsa community for learning On2. I’m reviewing to confirm, Timba has a fantastic program where they teach musicality, fundamental footwork/technique, and grow partner dancing abilities. I just completed my first month Lvl 1 & 1.5 (3 hours every Tuesday) - I look forward to continuing into Lvl 1.5 and 2.

I’ve taken salsa classes before but never like this. Alyssa and Johan along with other instructors are amazing at teaching! If you’re a beginner or an advanced dancer, there’s someone in this studio that’s on the same level as you and will help you get to where you want to be. It’s fun, it’s dynamic and it’s challenging. Dancing here has brought back the joy I was missing!

Timba Tumbao with Johan and Alyssa has been an amazing experience. They’re very detail oriented instructors who focus heavily on proper technique and quality dancing. I also really appreciate the balanced ratio of leads and follows, which gives everyone more opportunities to practice, something many other studios lack. It’s easy to see why they produce such strong salsa dancers. Highly recommend!

This studio does a great job at teaching the fundamentals of salsa from absolute beginner. I like the pace so far and look forward to taking more courses here!
