If you're looking at this review, at least now you know you can stop wasting your time calling these other companies and dealing with their High pressured sales techniques! I actually do building maintenance for a living for a United States government agency, but I have rotator cuff shoulder injuries and cannot do that type of work anymore or I would have done it myself cuz I actually do know Plumbing very well. So when I first decided to get my shower pan replaced I figured I'll do like we do at work, get some big companies over, get some estimates, and go from there. Well the pricing I was hearing was completely ridiculous as far as I'm concerned because I know how much this stuff costs and I know how long it would take to do, this is a one-day job for the most part. The most expensive was one of the biggest and one of the first I called and I couldn't believe when they said $27,000 just to replace the shower pan and the walls in the shower area plus the fixtures. So of course I told the salesman to have a nice day. WSH's area sales manager then called me about two weeks later and said that he could drop it down to $17,000 and save me $10,000, when would I like to schedule. At that point I couldn't help but chuckle and I'll say it in the public version here. I said why in the H would I use your company when you just admitted you tried to rip me off an extra $10,000? After a little stuttering trying to think of what to say I said don't even bother trying to con me into going with your company because the bathroom pan has already been completed and they even put in a vanity top to match at less than half of what you guys wanted and it's a beautiful job, I am so glad that I waited for Mayo. The panels are so thick it's almost the size of my pinky I tried to show in the one picture how thick. And yes I told him what company I used and told him I hope they put you out of business because your big company is nothing but a ripoff. I didn't originally call Mayo walk-in tubs because I figured they specialize in that but I decided after hearing these outrageous prices from other companies that I'd give them a call because a shower pan is way easier, maybe they would do that as well. So I called, he asked me a couple questions like the year of my home and what kind of shower it looks like and I told him it was a fiberglass insert, my house was built in '79. So he asked me what kind of fixtures I want and how many shelves do I want and if I wanted a seat as well so after telling him exactly what I wanted he quoted me a price! I said don't you want to come out here and take a look at it and he said no you told me all I need to know, it was built 79, it's a Standard fiberglass insert that they mass produced in these homes back then here in Phoenix. so he said I'll come measure it just to make sure but it won't change the price it's basically all the same. So the installer came the next day measured everything up a couple days later. And then a few days after that, they did it in one day, and that even included putting a new vanity top to match as well. You will not be sorry if you use these guys because they're straight up and honest and you'll get I think probably better work than you'll get from a big company that has so many customers they don't really care about the individual. So my theory of trying the big companies did nothing but prove that the small guys will do a better job at a better price because they want to have a good reputation and not one like those big companies! The hard part is finding the good small companies like Mayo!
