Wow, what a great experience!! I was immediately greeted by the huge smile of Louis Baummer when I brought my 45yr old Yamaha acoustic in for a long overdue set up and string change. (I'd been unable to play for a number of years.) Now, HotRod 6 Strings normally repairs and creates solid body electrics of high value and craftsmanship. But Louis treated me and my guitar like I was the same guitar royalty that regularly frequents their shop. He had excellent recommendations of what was needed, new frets, sanding fingerboard, etc., and my being old and retired, he really strove to work within my budget. When I picked up my guitar, I thanked him for talking on my job even while most customers are high end musicians. Louis told me he always treats every piece like it was owned by family. And he certainly did!! I can't recommend HotRod 6 Strings, and especially Louis, enough! Thank you, Lou!!

I don’t live close, but I go out of my way to bring my guitars here. Their service is unmatched, and their prices are reasonable. One of the things that is immediately apparent when dealing with Chris and Lou, is that they clearly are passionate about guitars and know what they are doing. Musical instruments are personal things, and if you ever need service with them, you want to be sure the people doing the service care about them as much as you do. I highly recommend Hotrod 6 strings!

The absolute best guitar technician/luthier on the East Coast. I have been bringing my guitars to Chris for over 20 years, and his service, repair skills and expertise is unmatched. After living out of the area for the past decade, I am happy today to drive two hours each way in order for Chris and Louie to work on my guitars! No problem is too big or small and they will always point you in the right direction. If you want your instrument to play right, bring it to Hot Rod, you will not regret it! They truly are the best. I just received my fully custom Tatalias Guitars T2, and the guitar honestly is so much more than I had even imagined it would be. The unplugged sound (first thing I listed to with a guitar) was loud and rich. The quality of materials and aesthetics are displayed to the highest level, and the playability is outstanding all over the neck. The plugged in sound is warm, big and “piano” like with full chords that each note is as balanced as the others.I can not say enough about my experience at Tatalias Guitars, except a big Thank You to Chris and the crew.

After returning from a trip half way around world, I found that while in the air my guitar had severely cracked and split where the neck meets the body. I thought that it was a goner. Chris and his team repaired it beautifully and it plays like it’s new. Many thanks to this team for breathing life into what I thought was a fatally damaged instrument. If Google had a 6th Star, I’d have selected it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5+ stars! Chris totally exceeded my expectations on my project, this guitar may be my new go to.I can’t say enough good things about him and his shop. While there, I played one his custom guitars that had a beautiful birds eye maple neck. Amazing work and played great. I’m 2 hours away, but it’s worth the drive. Thanks again!
