⭐☆☆☆☆To be clear, Kim Ackerman was not our agent, she represented the buyers in our transaction. While it is somewhat unusual to leave a review for the opposing party's agent, our experience was significant enough that we feel others should be aware of what they may encounter if her name appears on either side of a real estate transaction.Throughout the sale of our home, we felt repeatedly pressured toward positions and concessions we had already made clear we were not comfortable with. As sellers who were relocating out of state on a tight timeline, we often felt that our situation was being leveraged against us and that we were being pushed into difficult positions because of the circumstances we were in. While some of this may have originated with the buyers themselves, it is ultimately an agent's responsibility to manage expectations, facilitate productive communication, and help move a transaction forward in good faith. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We were also particularly concerned by her repeated contact with contractors we had hired as sellers. Even after being informed that we—not the buyers—were their clients, she continued reaching out, resulting in several interactions that those contractors described to us as inappropriate and confrontational.By the end of the transaction, concerns regarding the professionalism and ethics of certain actions had been raised by others involved in the process as well. We seriously considered pursuing additional recourse, including filing a complaint with the licensing board, but ultimately decided we wanted to put the experience behind us and move on.Strong advocacy for a client is expected and respected. However, there is a difference between advocating for a client and creating unnecessary conflict, pressure, and distrust throughout a transaction. Based on our experience, if we were ever selling another home and received an otherwise excellent offer represented by Kim Ackerman, her involvement alone would give us serious pause. In fact, we would be inclined to decline the offer and wait for another buyer simply to avoid repeating the experience we had during this transaction.
