Dez is amazing! We enrolled our Rottweiler Chilli, in both the puppy and adult program. She started the puppy program when she was 12 weeks old and we are so happy we started early. I’ve had dogs all my life, small and large. I adopted an 8th month old Shepherd mix this spring. She became highly reactive - lunging, barking, not listening at all and was beyond my training methods. I actually got hurt from it. I contacted Arsenal K9, spoke with Desiree who took my dog in, boarded her and then trained her while I recovered. My dog now has a foundation, confidence and focus that she did not have before. We cannot say enough GOOD things about the service that Dez provides. If you are on the fence about getting help with your dog through this service it is absolutely 1000% worth the cost and work.We sent our 7 year old lab Dexter to the board and train program in Prince Albert with Dez for one month. He had many issues including what seemed like separation anxiety, resource guarding (including some nipping incidents), refusal to kennel, constant barking & out of control leash pulling. We had a hard time establishing boundaries with Dexter. Dez was helpful in explaining what her program was all about and if it would be the right fit for our dog. She was kind enough to go above and beyond picking our dog up at our house in Saskatoon! She sent really great updates with pictures each week about what he had been working on. If there were more extensive issues to be discussed she called us to talk through anything else and tell us her concerns. She again, went above and beyond and brought Dexter back to Saskatoon when the month was up. She talked over everything with us in our home before bringing him back in. She provided us with so much information and it is very clear she is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her career in this field. Even when Dez brought Dexter down the driveway we could tell there had been a positive change with our dog! She gave us a training session in our yard and talked us through our many questions and concerns. After leaving us she checked in the next day and multiple times leading up to our next visit asking how things were going and answered any questions or concerns right away! She was constantly giving us tips and guidance with how to uphold all the training she had provided our dog with.Dexter has improved so much after his training with Dez that it is a night and day difference.He is much more calm, relaxed and confident. He no longer feels “stuck to us” all day, he previously had to be medicated for anxiety in situations like people coming to the door a lot, now he is not even phased by it, we feel in control and confident with all the help she has provided us. Dez taught Dexter great commands like “place” “leave it” “let’s go” “enough” we feel like our dog came back to us with really great boundaries that felt reasonable for us to continue working on everyday. There is a huge difference in walking him! Before he would be walking US and pulling with his entire weight wherever he wanted to go. Now he’s calm, relaxed, knows his place and is unbothered by other distractions.We met up with Dez after a few weeks of having Dexter home and had another training session where she went over our progress, gave us some adjustment tips and showed us a few new things!Dez is incredible at what she does and this service is worth absolutely every penny. She is passionate and so knowledgeable about this industry! We had the best experience with her!As long as you are committed to maintaining boundaries and implementing her training when your dog returns home, the training really holds up.Dez is super cool, easy going and so knowledgeable with dogs! You can tell she has a passion and puts her all into her work. Goes absolutely above and beyond and I cannot recommend this service enough!

Dez is hands down the best trainer! I have two dogs and my one is very old and sick. My younger girl was becoming a bully to my old man! I called Dez to help me become the assertive leader of the pack and keep everyone safe and happy! Our pup, Gia, was so full of energy and really needed some training. She was almost impossible to take for a walk and usually jumped up on people. We knew we needed to get some help with training or we wouldn’t be able to enjoy her.Having one on one training was a good decision. Now Gia walks really well and I can take her out to the park. We are still working on the training but are confident that Gia will become a well behaved dog that we can love and enjoy having share our home.

I feel like I have a different but the same dog! My dog listen way better than before but he is still is goofiness self he kept his personality. I like that I can actually have better relationship with my dog and I can do the command myself. I did a little practice and was amazed that he did listen and perform well. I only have good words for Arsenal K9 Academy, they listen to your needs and take care of your dog. It is not magic, because you once home need to still working on that bound but all the little victories makes you proud and keep going!!! OMG, ARSENAL and Dez are amazing! I truly believe she saved my family and my marriage.I have had my boy for 2 years, he is deaf, brain damaged and stubborn. She was able to give him a method for us to communicate, gave him a job and made him happier than I have ever seen in 2 years of having him.They were also perceptive in suggesting a medical issue that also may be occurring with his challenges, I love that level of caring and attention to my boy.The support doesn't end when he is home, I am able to reach out with questions when challenges occur. I am the caretaker for 2 outside compound shepherds in Prince Albert. These 2 dogs are young, and experienced some pretty big setbacks in their training at the beginning of this year. I reached out to Des at Arsenal K9 with no idea what I was going to do. She was quick to respond and quick to come out and assess. After her assessment, she provided me with a training plan that ultimately rebuilt our dogs into fantastic compound guardians – better than they were before their setbacks. Her prices were fair, she always set reasonable expectations, and when she had each of our dogs for board and train, she took excellent care of them. So like other folks with dogs, my wife and I absolutely want nothing but the best for our dogs. From food to toys and everything in-between! So with my 2 boys I went with arsenal k9 for training...I was very skeptical at first not knowing what kind of trainer it was going to be!? Was it another clicker trainer? Or positive reinforcement training....No not one bit!It was initially Jason arsenal showing me and my dog how to be better!2 dogs with Jason and not 1 complaint from me.Des took over and my 2 year old came down with cancer and I lost him..In time I bought another rottie, his name is Tyr and he's missing an eye and needs some special work as he has depth perception issues and a very large blind spot !So we called des....Well let me first off say, it is like working with a small version of Jason! My pit-bull was an anxious, fearful girl, which made her a reactive dog. She had bit multiple people and I was running out of options for her. I brought my puppy to Des in January of this year, and it changed my life and Lucy’s life.Lucy is a rescue who is timid and unsure of a lot of things, which makes her reactive and jumpy. I also had to sedate her to cut her nails. She now has more confidence and enjoys going on more adventures. For a long time I felt super defeated, and like I couldn’t figure out how to fulfil Kane‘s needs being a stubborn and needy breed. But when it came down to it, I either needed to find a program that worked for me and him or rehome him which really was not an option that I was willing to choose anyway. So I reached out to Arsenal and got in contact with Dez and from day one just felt super supported and felt like my concerns and difficulty with kanes reactivity and impulse control were taken seriously. From the day I dropped him off I felt like he was in the best hands possible and I knew he was learning the lessons he needed to thrive for the rest of his life. Once I picked him up and brought him home, the skills he learned, became super useful and my house turned back into the fun and not stressful place that it used to be. At each take home session I was reassured that Kane was doing amazing and I had been doing just as good as him at maintaining and practising and using the skills that Dez and the team at Arsenal put so much time and effort into teaching him and myself. I would choose this training program at Arsenal again, and again, knowing that he came home the dog I needed him to be for him to stay in my home.

I cannot say enough positive things about the boarding rover program at arsenal. Our dog was extremely overly exciteable and nothing we did seemed to help get the message through to him (things like jumping, counter surfing, chasing anything moving including bikes, my kids, blowing leaves, dogs, squirrels, stealing hats and toques and mitts off my kids bodies). We felt like we had extremely poor control and the dog was making our life feel extremely unmanageable with our three kids. We have a child with severe physical disabilities so having a dog that yanks on the leash, barks at other dogs, doesn’t listen, and generally just runs wild around the house was not an option. He was also very reactive off leash and towards other dogs and sometimes even humans outside of the house. We had debated rehoming Gus but we were much too attached to him as a family. We had done some other group training and puppy classes as well as lots of positive reinforcement and training with him at home and it just wasn’t working for his reactive and exciteable behaviours. I reached out to Jenna and Jason and they recommended the boarding rover program for 4 weeks. He’s only been home for two days and he is like a completely different dog. He is calm, he hardly ever barks, he walks in a perfect heel next to me and next to my sons wheelchair. His recall is dramatically improved, and I feel as if I can trust him and give him much more freedom now. I’m looking forward to having a dog I can take camping with my family, to ball games, and on walks with my 3 kids. He is now adding to a better quality of life for our family rather than adding stress to our lives. Gus is a perfect gentleman who will ignore other dogs on walks and walk nicely beside me. He goes to his place now when people come to the door, and when released will greet people calmly and appropriately (he also will back off when I tel him it’s been enough so our guests aren’t being begged for attention by the dog for the duration of their stay). On top of all of the amazing things they taught him they have also taught me so much, and I look forward to making these behaviours concrete now that he is home, and helping him toBuild new skills on top of this wonderful foundation that arsenal has built for him. This is the best investment we could have made for a calmer and happier home for everyone. If you’re thinking about getting some training for your pup through arsenal, this is your sign to do it!

This was my last option for Mufassa, as I had tried multiple trainers for groups, private lessons, and obedience. He was a fearful dog since a pup, as he grew this turned into aggression and reactivity. Despite spending tons of money & time on various training, he kept getting worse. It got to the point that I couldn't do anything with him in fear that he would seriously hurt someone. He was lunging, growling, and barking at strangers and other dogs. Having company over caused a lot of anxiety. We couldn't even play in the yard as he was only focused on the neighbors dogs, wanting to fight them.K9 Arsenal in Prince Albert took Mufassa into their Boarding program right away. They kept in contact with me consistently, sending a report card every weekend as well as phone communication throughout the week. They went above and beyond to ensure Mufassa was not only cared for, but that I also gained confidence as his owner and understood how to work with him.Mufassa now:-in the yard we can actually play with his toys. I've only needed to recall him from the fence once when he was distracted by the barking dogs on the other side. He recalled immediately and went right back to playing.-we go on regular walks inside stores full of customers! He walks beside me and ignores all the strange people and noises.-outside walks are enjoyable as he walks with a loose leash beside me and watches for my lead. We walked by other people on the sidewalk and he did not try to hurt them. No growling or lunging.-I had company over. He stayed where I told him to the entire time (2hrs). He didn't like strangers in his house but he listened to me and calmed down very quickly. He relaxed enough that he fell asleep.-He still doesn't trust new people or dogs. I understand now that he doesn't have to like them - but he doesn't react to them either.-his body language shows way less stress and anxiety as he is relaxed and calm in public rather than fearing everythingThe team at K9 Aresenal continue working with me and Mufassa. It's obvious they truly care about their clients and do everything possible to ensure the best care and maintenance during and after training.I don't have a perfect dog, but I have a dog who listens and who I can enjoy daily life with again. I have a happy dog.This is all thanks to K9 Arsenal for their time, effort, and expertise.(Muzzle in the store is for my piece of mind as I continue building my confidence - he doesn't need it)
