Love this place. First time I went was waiting while my tire got fixed at the other end of the strip mall. Everyone was so nice. I am dyslexic so even English is difficult for me. They help me with my Spanish every time I am there which I love.I have recommended it to multiple other people who all love it.I couple weeks ago I took a girlfriend out because she was having a very low key wedding. Basically an elopement where people were going to be there. We got margaritas, a first for me. They don't deal with mixes there. You get actual muddled fruit. It was single handedly the best margarita I have ever had. Even better than that, the waitress. We were going back and forth over what tequila we wanted. The waitress brings us glasses of water in highball glasses and points to them, "tequila!" We panicked thinking she misunderstood us. It was the best to have them join in on our giggles.Only one thing I can say against. I don't like their take out containers. They are metal lined and it makes the food taste metal to me. So people who also have a sensitivity to that, be aware. The to go container is regular styrofoam.

WOW! The atmosphere here is B-E-A-U-TIFUL! Just beautiful !The pleasantries didn't stop there either. Their service was very nice and our waitress a delight. Our food came out fast and very fresh! I would drive here again from the north side of Indy! Very good service and Great Food! Thank you so very much for a wonderful dining experience!

We ordered 2 large salsa and chips for carryout this past Friday, 4/10. We sent our teenage son to pick the order up in person (NO delivery service was involved). My wife just informed me this morning, 4/14, that he was charged $45 for this. Is this accurate? Really? Was there a misunderstanding? Yes, the salsas were bigger than "the other" local Mexican restaurant we frequent for take out, but when we've eaten in at Mi Abuelito we've never felt price gouged. I see on a picture of the menu that yes, they charge $22 for an XXL queso to-go and although that seems a little pricey, I understand. The queso is a much thicker, more expensive product. But for salsa? The "other location" we've gotten take-out salsa charged $9 for 16oz salsa and chips. But $45? Wow... We won't be returning to Mi Abuelito in the future for either takeout or eat in. Again, was there a misunderstanding or an order charged incorrectly? Makes ZERO sense.

The chimichunga dish that I usually order had a very tiny amount of cheese sauce on it. The salsa was good but they had somehow changed the chips and they were not as good as they usually are. I hope this doesn't become the norm. The service was really good.

The best Mexican food I have had in Indianapolis so far. Very reminiscent of Los Portales, my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Quad Cities.The beef taco was good, but the shell is too thin. The bottom side of the shell was soft, so I couldn't eat it by hand, which I find rather typical of these type of tacos.The Nachos with Ground Beef were very good.The sides of rice and beans provided a good quantity for the price, particularly the beans.The chips were good, but on the thinner side than I prefer. The salsa was pretty good, it had a depth of flavor, but I prefer more heat than most restaurants provide.I will get at least two or three meals out of what I ordered.

Always good portion sizes and food quality is always good and the same time after time and theres something to be said about being consistent in this game. Love the decorations and overall appearance of the restraunt.
