I met a friend here that I hadn’t seen in awhile and we were all ready to enjoy a nice leisurely lunch and get caught up. Our waiter had different plans. He wanted us to order before we even opened our menus. We asked for extra time and evidently 2 minutes is “extra time.” After his fourth time to our table we decided to go ahead and order. Our meals were delivered in record time and the food was hot and delicious. Our waiter never once asked if we wanted our drinks topped off, or if we needed or wanted anything else. My friend’s plate was still half full eventho she had eaten her enchilada, but I kid you not, our waiter wizzed by so fast and without saying a thing he snagged her plate and quickly walked away. I was dumbfounded. I tried to get his attention but my friend said “it’s ok, don’t worry about it.” She knew I’d cause a scene otherwise (and I would have). I am naturally a slow eater, but that didn’t go over well. I think he assumed I was taking my meal home, so a to-go container and our checks were delivered together. Did we want dessert? Who knows? We weren’t asked. Did we want anything else? Who knows, we weren’t asked. By the way, the restaurant was more than half empty, so it wasn’t like they needed the tables. I will never go back to this restaurant and I hope our waiter gets some much needed extra training, although I doubt that will happen. I was so disappointed in our lunch experience and my friend and I only got halfway through the many topics we wanted to discuss. In hindsight, we should have gone to BJs at the mall which was our second choice.
