Unprofessional Conduct and Request for Refund of DepositDear Le Jean,I hope this message finds you well.My boyfriend and I viewed an apartment in December 2024 and due to limited options at the time, we decided to rent it. We paid a double deposit and moved in. Now, after five months, unforeseen circumstances have led us to make the decision to relocate to Europe. We have informed Loraine Louw, the agent, about our situation, and she is aware that we will be leaving. However, we are currently being unfairly pressured to continue paying rent and are being told that we cannot move out without forfeiting our security deposit. We are essentially being held hostage in the property, and it feels as though we have no option but to stay and keep paying. We understand that a 20-day notice is typically required, but we are concerned about the unprofessional behavior we have encountered from your staff. Loraine has been unresponsive and has blocked communication, which makes it impossible for us to resolve the matter. Recently, she conducted a viewing of the property and took the gate remote tags for the entire weekend, leaving us without them. This has led to parking fines, which have added to our frustrations. We urge you to take action and ensure that tenants are treated fairly and with respect. It is crucial that such issues are addressed to prevent further distress for other potential tenants. We are requesting a refund of our security deposit, as we are being denied the opportunity to exit the property as planned. Please investigate this matter and provide a resolution as soon as possible.ThanksAsh
